# About Scrubnet

A practitioner-built toolkit and knowledge hub for technical SEO and web development

## A space for people who build and optimise the web

Scrubnet helps technical SEO specialists and web developers find better ways to inspect websites, organise complex work and learn from the live web. It brings together a growing collection of focused apps, practical technical articles and a public crawler observatory under one independent brand.

The observatory remains an important and distinctive part of Scrubnet, but it is one part of a broader purpose: making demanding technical work clearer, more productive and easier to share.

## Hi, I’m Charles

I’m a technical SEO specialist and web developer who leads strategy and delivery across complex e-commerce and international websites. I translate technical analysis into practical development roadmaps aligned with commercial priorities, platform constraints and engineering resources.

My work spans technical audits, migrations, JavaScript rendering, site architecture, crawl management, Core Web Vitals, structured data and international SEO. I work closely with developers, product teams, marketers and senior stakeholders to define requirements, validate implementation and turn technical findings into measurable improvements.

My earlier experience leading IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and hardware gives me a server-to-SERP perspective: understand how the underlying systems work, make the evidence inspectable and translate it into changes that teams can implement confidently.

## Areas of expertise

- **Technical strategy and delivery:** audits, development roadmaps, implementation requirements, migrations, QA and post-launch monitoring.
- **Crawling, rendering and architecture:** JavaScript and server-side rendering, CDN configuration, crawlability, indexation, internal linking, pagination and faceted navigation.
- **Performance and structured data:** Core Web Vitals, template-level performance improvements and schema design for complex e-commerce websites.
- **International and emerging search:** hreflang architecture, regional website structures, crawler monitoring, bot controls, AI-driven search and agentic commerce.
- **Automation and reporting:** reusable monitoring and reporting workflows built around crawl, search, analytics and real-user performance data.

## Why I built Scrubnet

Scrubnet began as an attempt to create a cleaner publishing layer for search and AI systems. Running that infrastructure surfaced a more useful question: what do crawlers actually request when they encounter consistent, machine-readable feeds?

That question became the public crawler observatory. Building it also reinforced a broader idea: technical practitioners benefit from focused tools, clearly explained methods and evidence they can inspect for themselves. Scrubnet now brings those elements together as a home for better technical SEO and web development workflows.

That delivery experience shapes how Scrubnet evolves. Its tools are built around real working practices: identifying problems, gathering reliable evidence, communicating requirements clearly and validating changes in production. Its articles explain repeatable methods, while the crawler observatory contributes an open evidence layer for studying how search and AI systems interact with web content.

## How Scrubnet works

- **Practitioner-built:** ideas start with real technical problems and working habits.
- **Independent:** Scrubnet is not tied to a search engine, AI platform or tool vendor.
- **Evidence-led:** observable behaviour is separated from assumptions, hypotheses and marketing claims.
- **Careful with claims:** crawler access is not presented as proof of indexing, ranking, retrieval or citation.
- **Open where possible:** feeds, logs, methods and findings are public wherever access and privacy allow.
