HOW TO GET TO UA POU : By air from Tahiti, the inter-island airline Air Tahiti serves the destination by Twin Otter after a stopover in Nuku Hiva or Hiva Oa to change planes. OR By sea, by taking a taxi from Nuku Hiva or Nuku-a-Taha airport to Taiohae Bay, from where shuttle buses in bonitiers or speedboats provide a sea link between Nuku Hiva and Ua Pou. Allow 1 hour 30 minutes by taxi and 1 hour 40 minutes by sea. We can give you the contact details of the taxis and bonitier captains so that you can make the best possible arrangements. It is now also possible to take the KAOHA TINI administrative shuttle, but beware, some of the rotations pass through Ua Huka and take much longer.
