Scrubnet Feed Terms
Licence & acceptable use for /feed/* endpoints
Plain-English Summary
- Read-only access to public feeds under
/feed/*. - Feeds are built for bots and agents; traditional web search indexing of raw feeds is discouraged.
- Keep provenance: attribute Scrubnet and the Brand when you surface feed-derived information publicly.
- Use caching and conditional requests (
ETag/Last-Modified) to avoid unnecessary re-fetching. - No bulk mirroring or reselling of the feeds as-is without written permission.
This summary is for convenience only. The legal terms below govern.
1) Scope
These Feed Terms (“Terms”) apply to any access to machine-readable resources hosted by Scrubnet Ltd
at or under /feed/ (the “Feeds”). By accessing or using the Feeds you agree to these Terms.
2) Definitions
- “Feeds” means JSON, TXT, XML, or other structured resources under
/feed/*. - “Brand Data” means data sourced from, provided by, or approved by the relevant brand, and/or extracted from public brand pages referenced by the feed.
- “Attribution” means a reasonable acknowledgement that the data was sourced from Scrubnet and the relevant Brand, including a link to the feed or brand feed entry where practical.
- “You” means the individual or entity accessing or using the Feeds.
3) Licence
Subject to these Terms, Scrubnet grants you a non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to retrieve and use the Feeds for indexing, analytics, research, and AI/agent ingestion.
Where Brand Data is included, rights are limited to what is necessary to access and use the structured content. All other rights are reserved by Scrubnet and/or the Brand and/or the respective rights holders.
4) Permitted Use
- Programmatic retrieval using polite rates and conditional requests (
If-None-Match,If-Modified-Since). - Caching according to response headers.
- Parsing, transforming, embedding, and modelling for internal use or product features, subject to Attribution and Restrictions.
- Storing derived outputs (e.g. embeddings, summaries, indices) provided you do not publish a public mirror of the Feeds.
5) Restrictions
- No public mirroring: do not republish, mirror, or make available the Feeds “as-is” (or near-equivalents) as a public dataset, service, or competing feed product without prior written permission.
- No provenance stripping: do not remove, obscure, or falsify attribution, source URLs, timestamps, IDs, or other provenance metadata included in the Feeds.
- No misleading use: do not present feed-derived information in a way that could reasonably mislead end users about origin, freshness, or brand approval.
- No unlawful use: do not use the Feeds in violation of applicable law or to infringe third-party rights.
- No bypassing controls: do not attempt to bypass reasonable technical measures such as rate limits or access rules.
6) Attribution
Where you publicly surface information derived primarily from a Feed (for example in an interface, answer, or product listing), provide reasonable Attribution.
Example:
Source: Scrubnet (Brand: CORRION) — https://scrubnet.org/feed/bycorrion/sitemap.xml
7) Robots & Indexing
- Where responses include
X-Robots-Tag: noindex, we encourage consumers to respect it. - Feeds are designed for machine consumption; traditional web search indexing of raw feed URLs is discouraged.
8) Rate Limits & Availability
To ensure fair access and reduce unnecessary bandwidth:
- Use conditional requests (
ETag/Last-Modified) and cache responses. - Keep request rates modest (guidance: ≤ 60 requests per IP per minute across
/feed/*, unless otherwise agreed).
Scrubnet may throttle, block, or temporarily suspend access to protect service stability, security, and fair use.
9) Corrections & Takedown
If you believe content is inaccurate, infringes rights, or should not appear in a Feed, contact contact@scrubnet.org. We will review reasonable requests and may update, annotate, restrict, or remove content after verification.
10) Warranty Disclaimer
The Feeds are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrubnet disclaims all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrubnet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Feeds.
12) Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date below. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13) Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that Scrubnet may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction.
